    • The Ready 2 Work program aims to advocate for equitable access and retention for Black workers to be employed in quality careers, free of discrimination with opportunities for leadership by promoting equitable policies and meaningful direct placements.
    • Ready 2 Work is a three-month process that includes an orientation- which introduces participants to the program expectations, the vision, and goals of the LABWC.

    • Inland Empire Works (IEWorks) is devoted to strengthening the water/wastewater workforce by creating equitable pathways to water/wastewater careers. In collaboration with community partners and water agencies, IEWorks aspires to train and employ future water professionals.

    • SDBWC Focus Groups

      The San Diego Black Worker Center is hosting a series of focus groups, separated by sector, to identify key barriers, common trends, and issues the Black community face in the current workforce.

    • Working While Black (WWB)

      In partnership with The National Black Worker Center, the WWB video series, grassroots campaigns, WWB Expo, and training bring the truth of Black workers out of the shadows – using our stories to create change.

    • Learn Together, Heal Together Series

      The Learn Together, Heal Together Series is a mixture of workshops and events centered around a holistic approach to organizing by addressing not only the physical needs of Black Workers, but the mental and spiritual needs as well.

  • Worker Wellness Earthlodge Center for Transformation

    • In collaboration with the Southern California Black Worker Hub for Regional Organizing, Earthlodge Center for Transformation provides worker wellness spaces for Black community members to be present and share life experiences while exploring the empowerment of trauma healing through grounding exercises, understanding the importance of mental health care and knowing worker rights.
  • Worker Wellness Covid Workplace Outreach Project

    • Since 2021, the California Labor and Workforce Development Agency funded the SoCal BW Hub and its partners through CWOP to provide Covid-related resources to nearly 20,000 Black workers, partner with 12+ Black serving CBOs and unions, and collect 12+ stories from Black workers. We will continue our partnership with Earthlodge to ensure that Black workers have resources for wellness at work, a high priority for Black workers navigating the challenges of Covid-19. Our outreach activities over the last two years have included text and phone banking, community listening sessions, tabling at in-person events. We are also actively advocating for the expansion of CWOP funds to non-Covid related worker rights; and developing a plan to institutionalize the program with long-term funding and training for Black workers.
